Today will be day 20 since we entered into the hospital.
Thursday morning the doctors gave him the label, "STABLE" and he was approved to move out of the ICU, and onto the regular pediatric floor. He is doing much better, but still working on slowly coming off of the pain meds.
He also started PT today! His little legs were so weak. He is using a walker and was able to take about ten steps before he was exhausted.
Friday is the day where he will be sedated---AGAIN!! The doctors are going to make sure that his G-J tube is in the correct placement and we will be able to start feeds again :-) His surgeon (Dr.Sullivan) wants him to be tolerating all of his feeds and have the central line removed before we go anywhere. She is thinking a few more weeks! The other "floor" doctors are thinking that by next Thursday we should be home. My goal is to be home as soon as possible, but making sure that Zach is ready and has no relapses comes first!
Thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers, notes, visits, donations, meals, and other thoughtful trinkets! Thanks again and know that even if we haven't had a chance to say thank you---we are very grateful!
