Well....life is never easy with Mr.Zach Man :-)
Friday, he was taken off the ventilator and was having a horrible time breathing. They tried different treatments, breathing aids, and anti-swelling for his tubes in his airway....still there was no relief. They decided to take an x-ray and found out that there was something that was "in his chest' AGAIN!!! Come to find out there was!
He popped the stitches in his diaphragm when he was trying to breathe on his own. His small bowel and part of his spleen tried to move back into the left chest cavity---again. They rushed him to surgery at 11pm and did another three hour surgery. They decided that instead of stitches they would put a piece of plastic around his diaphragm. The stitches in his body just wouldn't hold. So, now he has a piece of gortex wrapped around preventing anything from his stomach/lower intestine area to move back into the chest area!!!
He is sedated again and on heavy pain pills. At least they went through the same spot--so they just reopened his incision across his stomach.
Thanks for everyone's kind wishes, dinners, thoughts, prayers, donations, babysitting, and visiting. This is a very rough time, but with everyones help we will stay sane and make it through this challenging time~

Meredith - We are thinking of you guys. I am so sorry you are going through all this. I just got your blog address from Mark's facebook page, and was reading about everything that is going on, and feel so bad for cute little Zach.
